 1                          HOUSE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS, Cardiovascular disease is the number one  killer
 3    in  the State of Illinois; it kills a person every 33 seconds
 4    in the United States; and

 5        WHEREAS, Prairie Heart Institute at St.  John's  Hospital
 6    has  been rated in the top five percent of the nation and has
 7    received a prestigious five-star rating for  coronary  bypass
 8    surgery, interventional cardiac procedures, and the treatment
 9    of heart attacks; and

10        WHEREAS,  Prairie  Heart Institute at St. John's Hospital
11    has been rated number one in the region for cardiac  services
12    for the third year in a row by a national rating company; and

13        WHEREAS,  Prairie  Heart Institute at St. John's Hospital
14    has been recognized for the second year in a  row  as  number
15    one  in  the  State  for  cardiac interventions by a national
16    rating company; and

17        WHEREAS, Prairie Heart Institute at St.  John's  Hospital
18    is the largest heart center in Illinois; and

19        WHEREAS,  Prairie  Heart Institute at St. John's Hospital
20    has  completed  more  than   30,000   open   heart   surgical
21    procedures; and

22        WHEREAS,  Prairie  Heart Institute at St. John's Hospital
23    is a leader in women's heart health; and

24        WHEREAS,  The  physicians  and  staff  at  Prairie  Heart
25    Institute  at  St.  John's  Hospital   demonstrate   a   true
26    compassion  for  patients  and an unending desire to excel in
27    research and performance; therefore, be it

28        RESOLVED,  BY  THE  HOUSE  OF  REPRESENTATIVES   OF   THE
29    NINETY-THIRD  GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
30    we acknowledge and  thank  Prairie  Heart  Institute  of  St.

 1    John's  Hospital  for  its  ongoing  superior  performance in
 2    fighting heart disease,  its  unending  desire  to  excel  in
 3    cardiovascular   research,   and   for   demonstrating   true
 4    compassion to patients; and be it further

 5        RESOLVED,  That  a  suitable  copy  of this resolution be
 6    presented to Prairie Heart Institute at St.  John's  Hospital
 7    with our best wishes for its continued success.
