| HOUSE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the |
| 3 |
| State of Illinois are pleased to congratulate Hirth Plumbing |
| 4 |
| and Heating Company of Belleville on the occasion of its 100th |
| 5 |
| anniversary; and
|
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, On January 15, 1904, George Hirth founded the |
| 7 |
| company in Belleville; he owned and operated the company until |
| 8 |
| his death in 1932, when his daughter, Mame "Hirth" Neuf, and |
| 9 |
| her husband, Arthur E. Neuf Jr., took over ownership and |
| 10 |
| operation; the Neufs kept the company until their retirement, |
| 11 |
| when Elizabeth Anne "Neuf" Terschluse and her husband, Herbert |
| 12 |
| E. Terschluse Jr., assumed ownership and operation of the |
| 13 |
| family business; and
|
| 14 |
| WHEREAS, Today, Hirth Plumbing and Heating Company is in |
| 15 |
| its fourth generation of ownership by the same family and is |
| 16 |
| operated by Stephen, David, and James Terschluse; Hirth |
| 17 |
| Plumbing and Heating Company has been a union contractor since |
| 18 |
| its inception and remains committed to the quality and |
| 19 |
| craftsmanship provided by union plumbers, pipefitters, and |
| 20 |
| sheet metal workers; the company employs 40 people and operates |
| 21 |
| as a plumbing, heating, and air conditioning contractor serving |
| 22 |
| the entire metro east with a customer base of over 10,000; the |
| 23 |
| home office is still located in Belleville; and
|
| 24 |
| WHEREAS, Hirth Plumbing and Heating Company has been in |
| 25 |
| continuous operation by the same family since 1904, providing |
| 26 |
| prompt, professional, and courteous service to their |
| 27 |
| customers, family, friends, and neighbors; therefore, be it
|
| 28 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 29 |
| NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |
| 30 |
| congratulate Hirth Plumbing and Heating Company on the occasion |
| 31 |
| of its 100th anniversary; and be it further
