 1                          HOUSE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS,  It has come to the attention of the members  of
 3    the  Illinois  House  of  Representatives  that  World War II
 4    survivor  Henry  "Hank"  Ellerbrock  of  Ladd  has   recently
 5    celebrated a birthday; and

 6        WHEREAS, Mr. Ellerbrock was born on December 23, 1908; he
 7    and  his  wife,  Elder, reside in Ladd and are members of the
 8    St. Benedict Catholic Church; and

 9        WHEREAS, He was a sailor  assigned  to  the  U.S.S.  West
10    Virginia  during  World War II and was onboard on December 7,
11    1941 when his boat was attacked at Pearl Harbor; he  was  one
12    of the few who survived the attack on the ship; and

13        WHEREAS,  Mr.  Ellerbrock  has regularly led the Memorial
14    Day Parade in Ladd ever since World War II; he  is  currently
15    very  active  in  his community and serves as an usher at St.
16    Benedict; therefore, be it

17        RESOLVED,  BY  THE  HOUSE  OF  REPRESENTATIVES   OF   THE
18    NINETY-THIRD  GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
19    we thank Henry Ellerbrock for his extraordinary  courage  and
20    heroism  in World War II and for his service to the people of
21    the State of Illinois; and be it further

22        RESOLVED, That a suitable  copy  of  this  resolution  be
23    presented  to  Mr.  Henry  Ellerbrock as an expression of our
24    profound respect and esteem.
