 1                          HOUSE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS,  The  members   of   the   Illinois   House   of
 3    Representatives are pleased to recognize the Junior League of
 4    Kane  and  DuPage Counties, Inc., and its work to improve the
 5    quality of life for children at risk; and

 6        WHEREAS, The Junior League of Kane and  DuPage  Counties,
 7    Inc., became the 287th affiliate of the Association of Junior
 8    Leagues  International on April 1, 1995; the Junior League of
 9    Kane and DuPage Counties, Inc. is an  organization  of  women
10    committed  to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential
11    of women, and improving the community through  the  effective
12    action and leadership of trained volunteers; and

13        WHEREAS, The membership includes Women from DuPage, Kane,
14    Kendall  and  Will  Counties  of  Illinois;  these volunteers
15    provide  hours  of  service  to  their   local   communities;
16    membership   is  open  to  women  of  all  races,  religions,
17    nationalities,  sexual  orientations,  or  disabilities   who
18    demonstrate an interest in and commitment to voluntarism; and

19        WHEREAS,  League supported projects touch a wide range of
20    needs, emphasizing prevention  and  rehabilitative  services;
21    during  the  2002-2003  League year, its membership supported
22    the following  projects:  DuPage  Children's  Museum,  Bridge
23    Communites,  Childserv,  Glenwood School, Opportunity Knocks,
24    and Story Wizards; the League sent  two  delegates  to  State
25    Public Affairs Committee to serve with Illinois State Leagues
26    in  supporting  the  Daycare  Action  Council  and Voices for
27    Illinois Children; and

28        WHEREAS, A celebration will be held February 22, 2003, in
29    honor of the organization and it's Winterflight:  An  Evening
30    at the Sands fundraiser; therefore, be it

31        RESOLVED,   BY   THE  HOUSE  OF  REPRESENTATIVES  OF  THE

 1    NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS,  that
 2    we   congratulate  the  Junior  League  of  Kane  and  DuPage
 3    Counties, Inc. members for their hard work and dedication  to
 4    their communities; and be it further

 5        RESOLVED,  That  a  suitable  copy  of this resolution be
 6    presented to the members of the Junior  League  of  Kane  and
 7    DuPage Counties, Inc.
