1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of
3 the State of Illinois are pleased to acknowledge and
4 congratulate the State of New Mexico's 46th Legislative
5 Session and Governor Bill Richardson for passing and signing
6 into law SB255, the New Mexico Naprapathic Practice Act, on
7 March 20, 2003; and
8 WHEREAS, The New Mexico Legislature recognizes the
9 expansion and growth of Naprapathy as a specialized branch of
10 medicine that can truly benefit and serve the citizenry of
11 New Mexico, both young and old alike, by providing the
12 specific care and services for the various connective tissue
13 and neuromuscular-skeletal disorders that Naprapathy so
14 successfully addresses; and
15 WHEREAS, New Mexico State Senator Benny Altamirano and
16 New Mexico State Representatives Rick Miera and Dianne
17 Hamilton sponsored, supported, and shepherded the bill in
18 their respective Houses to passage, thereby enabling New
19 Mexico Governor Bill Richardson the opportunity to sign SB255
20 into law; and
21 WHEREAS, Governmental Consultants, Maurice and Mary
22 Hobson provided their time, efforts, and expertise working
23 with the above legislative sponsors to ensure the overall
24 success in passing SB255 into law; and
25 WHEREAS, Dr. George Stretch, President of the American
26 Naprapathic Association, and Dr. Patrick Nuzzo, President of
27 the New Mexico Naprapathic Association, along with the
28 support of the American Naprapathic Association Council and
29 its membership, provided the vision guidance, support, and
30 wherewithal to ensure that the profession of Naprapathy
31 continues to expand, grow, and continue to be a significant,
32 viable healthcare profession nationwide in the 21st century;

1 therefore, be it
2 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
3 NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
4 we acknowledge and welcome the State of New Mexico as an
5 additional jurisdiction that recognizes the benefit and
6 viability of Naprapathic Medicine; and be it further
7 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
8 presented to New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson, New Mexico
9 State Senator Benny Altamirano, New Mexico State
10 Representatives Dianne Hamilton and Rick Miera, Governmental
11 Consultants Maurice and Mary Hobson, and lastly Dr. George
12 Stretch and Dr. Patrick Nuzzo.
