 1                          HOUSE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS, Education is one of the most noble pursuits  for
 3    the  future  of  our  country  and  those  citizens  who have
 4    selflessly agreed to oversee the education  of  our  children
 5    are to be commended; and

 6        WHEREAS,   The   members   of   the   Illinois  House  of
 7    Representatives wish to congratulate  James  O'Brien  on  his
 8    retirement  as President of the Evergreen Park Community High
 9    School District 231 Board of Education; and

10        WHEREAS, Mr. O'Brien  will  be  completing  his  term  on
11    Tuesday,  April  8,  2003  after  serving  on the board for 8
12    years; and

13        WHEREAS,  Mr.  O'Brien  was  elected  to  the  Board   of
14    Education on November 1995, and re-elected in 1999; he served
15    as  Board  Vice President from December 2000 to November 2001
16    before taking the position of Board President, a position  he
17    has held since July of 2002; and

18        RESOLVED,   BY   THE  HOUSE  OF  REPRESENTATIVES  OF  THE
19    NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS,  that
20    we  congratulate James O'Brien on his retirement as President
21    of the Board of Education of Evergreen  Park  Community  High
22    School District 231 after many years of distinguished service
23    and dedication to its students; and be it further

24        RESOLVED,  That  a  suitable  copy  of this resolution be
25    presented to James O'Brien with our respect and esteem.
