 1                          HOUSE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS,  The  members   of   the   Illinois   House   of
 3    Representatives  would like to recognize and congratulate the
 4    Riverton High School Lady Hawks Class A Basketball  Team  for
 5    its many achievements; and

 6        WHEREAS, The Lady Hawks are coached by Kyle Price who has
 7    a  career record at Riverton of 75 and 16; the team holds the
 8    best record in the Class A State tournament  2002-03  (33-1);
 9    they hold the all-time State record for the 4th most wins and
10    have had the most wins in Class A girls basketball this year;
11    and  they  are  the only Class A girls basketball team in the
12    State to accomplish an undefeated regular season (28-0); and

13        WHEREAS, The Lady Hawks hold the #1 all time State record
14    for most consecutive free throws made in a  season  (29)  and
15    most consecutive free throws made in a game (27); and

16        WHEREAS,  In  the 2002-2003 season, the Lady Hawks earned
17    these titles: Early Bird  Review  Tournament  Champions,  the
18    Lady  Hawk  Christmas  Classic Champions, the Sangamon County
19    Tournament Champions, the Prairie State Conference Champions,
20    the Sangamo Conference Champions, the Regional Champions, the
21    Sectional Champions,  the  Super-Sectional  Champions  (Sweet
22    16),  and  advanced  to  the  Elite  8  in  the Class A State
23    Tournament; in addition, the team won the Good  Sportsmanship
24    Award  at the Class A 2003 girls basketball State Tournament;
25    and

26        WHEREAS, The 2002-03 Riverton Lady Hawks  hold  the  best
27    record  in  Riverton  school  history, boys or girls, for any
28    sports team; therefore, be it

29        RESOLVED,  BY  THE  HOUSE  OF  REPRESENTATIVES   OF   THE
30    NINETY-THIRD  GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
31    we congratulate the Riverton High School Lady Hawks  Class  A

 1    Basketball Team on their many successes and wish them well in
 2    all of their future endeavors as a team; and be it further

 3        RESOLVED,  That  a  suitable  copy  of this resolution be
 4    presented to coach Kyle Price and to each member of the  team
 5    as an expression of our respect and esteem.
