HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that the members of the House of Representatives of the State of Illinois have learned of the death of Army Specialist Jamie Moreno of Round Lake Beach on October 13, 2004 at the age of 27; and

WHEREAS, Jamie was killed in eastern Bagdad when an improvised explosive device detonated near his patrol vehicle on October 12, 2004; he was assigned to 20th Engineer Battalion, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas; and

WHEREAS, He is survived by his wife, Liliana Delgado, and a daughter; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we honor Army Specialist Jamie Moreno for his commitment, dedication, and sacrifice in the service of his family, community, and country; and be it further

RESOLVED, That we pray for the safety and well-being of Army Specialist Jamie Moreno's fellow service members as they continue to stand in harm's way in service in Iraq and around the world; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to his family as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
