HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, Rev. Dr. William G. Grice III of the First Congregational Church of Des Plaines, United Church of Christ, is celebrating his twenty-fifth anniversary of ministry; he moved to Des Plaines with his wife, Ann, and their children in 1979; he began on December 2, 1979 and was formally installed on March 2, 1980; and

WHEREAS, Rev. Grice has led Sunday School, confirmation classes, Bible study, MADD camps, canoe trips, church trips to Springfield and Cahokia Mounds, and many other activities; he has led the invocation for the Illinois House of Representatives; he has presided at Sunday worship services, weddings, baptisms, funerals, and confirmations in various locations in and around Des Plaines; and

WHEREAS, He is actively involved with many community and religious organizations; he is a lecturer and newspaper columnist; he is extremely generous with his time, sharing his expertise and skills in many areas; and

WHEREAS, His family includes his wife, Ann; his sons, Paul, Will, Jon, and Chris; his daughter-in-law, Sarah; his grandchildren, Quinn and Kaitlin; and his parents, Bill and Dorothy; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we proclaim December 12, 2004 to be a day to congratulate Rev. Dr. William G. Grice III for his 25 years of exemplary service to the congregation of the First Congregational Church of Des Plaines, United Church of Christ, and to the community of Des Plaines; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to him as an expression of our esteem.
