HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives of the State of Illinois were deeply saddened to learn of the death of Illinois Army National Guard Specialist Charles "Chuck" Robert Lamb of Casey, who died while proudly serving his country in Iraq; and

WHEREAS, Charles Lamb was a Specialist E-4 with the Paris-based 1544th Illinois Army National Guard Transportation Unit; he was called to active duty in November 2003, and was killed September 5, 2004 during a mortar attack on a logistical base southwest of Baghdad; and

WHEREAS, Specialist Lamb was born on January 12, 1981 in Paris to Tom J. and Shelly K. Robison Lamb, and married Erin E. Parbs in Marshall on November 21, 2003; and

WHEREAS, Specialist Lamb graduated from Casey-Westfield High School in 1999 and was a 2001 graduate of Universal Technical Institute of Glendale Heights; he was an auto mechanic for Goodwin's Body Shop in Martinsville; and

WHEREAS, Specialist Lamb enjoyed fishing, four-wheeler riding, motorbike riding, working in the garage and, most of all, spending time with his family and friends; and

WHEREAS, The passing of Specialist Lamb has been deeply felt by many, especially his wife, Erin; his parents, Tom and Shelly Lamb; his sister, Jennifer Roberts and husband Shawn; his mother-in-law, Irene Parbs; his sister-in-law, Kristin Parbs; his brother-in-law, Warren Parbs; his nieces, Ambrosia, Boston and Macy Roberts; his paternal grandparents, Robert and Carolyn Beard Lamb; his maternal grandmother, Mary Robison; and his aunts, uncles and cousins; and

WHEREAS, Specialist Lamb will be remembered by many as a heroic young man, deserving of honor; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that together with his family, friends, and the citizens of this State and this great nation, we mourn the passing of Illinois Army National Guard Specialist Charles "Chuck" Robert Lamb and extend to his family and friends our sincerest condolences; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Illinois Army National Guard Specialist Charles "Chuck" Robert Lamb as an expression of our deepest sympathy for their loss.
