HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The Oswego High Schools Marching Band last year was invited to march in the 116th Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, California on January 1, 2005; and

WHEREAS, The Oswego High School Bands are now in the home stretch of a yearlong effort that will culminate in the band's marching down Colorado Avenue in Pasadena on New Year's Day; and

WHEREAS, The Oswego High Schools Marching Band is the only band from Illinois marching in the 2005 Tournament of Roses Parade; and

WHEREAS, The Tournament of Roses Parade will be the experience of a lifetime for the students and a source of great pride to the entire community and the State of Illinois; and

WHEREAS, The band's performance in the parade is the result of a great program with exceptional leadership; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the Oswego High Schools Marching Band on its invitation to march in the 2005 Tournament of Roses Parade; and be it further

RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be presented to the directors, assistant directors, and members of the Oswego High Schools Marching Band.
