HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the State of Illinois wish to congratulate Delores Cooper on the occasion of her retirement; and

WHEREAS, Delores Cooper has contributed thirty-nine years of service to the Chicago Public School System; and

WHEREAS, Ms. Cooper worked at Esmond Elementary School for thirty-four years; she was employed as a teacher at the school for twenty-six years, and then as an assistant principal for eight more years; and

WHEREAS, Ms. Cooper was PTA secretary for two years; and

WHEREAS, Ms. Cooper served as Chairperson of the Professional Problem Committee (PPC) for eighteen years and as the Chair of the Professional Personnel Advisory Committee (PPAC) for fourteen years; and

WHEREAS, Ms. Cooper was an Elective Teacher Representative on the first Local School Council, where she also served as secretary; and

WHEREAS, For many years, Ms. Cooper served as a union delegate for the Chicago Teachers Union; and

WHEREAS, Ms. Cooper remains steadfast in her involvement with the community and participates in many on-going community activities; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Delores Cooper on the occasion of her retirement; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Delores Cooper as an expression of our respect and esteem for her devoted service within the Chicago Public School System.
