HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to recognize Rock on Aurora, a community impact event in the city of Aurora; and

WHEREAS, The first Saturday in October for the past two years, Progressive Baptist Church and other local congregations have gathered volunteers to meet the needs of the community in the greater Aurora area; and

WHEREAS, Teams are formed to serve in a variety of ways including cleaning city streets, beautifying public schools, visiting nursing home residents, minor home repairs for senior citizens, holding basketball and soccer clinics for area youth, and delivering food baskets to families in need; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we recognize Rock on Aurora and the Progressive Baptist Church for their combined efforts toward the betterment of the Aurora community; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Rev. Roy R. Brown, Senior Pastor of Progressive Baptist Church, as a token of our respect.
