| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the |
| 3 |
| State of Illinois are pleased to congratulate the Woodlawn |
| 4 |
| 16-and-under Pony League Softball Team, the Lady Cardinals, on |
| 5 |
| finishing third at the Pony National Championships in |
| 6 |
| Harlingen, Texas; and
|
| 7 |
| WHEREAS, The Lady Cardinals are based in Woodlawn; the team |
| 8 |
| consists of 8 members from Woodlawn and 3 from Waltonville; |
| 9 |
| they competed mostly against all-star teams at the national |
| 10 |
| event that featured 60 teams in 5 age divisions; and
|
| 11 |
| WHEREAS, In the quarterfinals, the Lady Cardinals beat a |
| 12 |
| team from San Antonio, but in the semifinals they lost to a |
| 13 |
| team from Mansfield, Louisiana; and
|
| 14 |
| WHEREAS, The team is coached by Allen Patterson and Marty |
| 15 |
| Douthit; the members of the Lady Cardinals are Vanessa Newell, |
| 16 |
| Kayla Sutton, Courtney Vincent, Allison Douthit, Katie |
| 17 |
| Edwards, Kristina Draege, Kelsie Boldt, Samantha Graziani, |
| 18 |
| Veronica Newell, Morgan Patterson, and Alicia Barnes; |

| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |

| NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |

| congratulate the members and coaches of the Lady Cardinals on |
| 23 |
| placing third at the Pony National Championships, and we honor |
| 24 |
| them for proudly representing our great State; and be it |

| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |

| presented to the members and coaches of the Lady Cardinals as |
