| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|
| 2 |
| WHEREAS, It is known that the stability of a business can |
| 3 |
| make a strong impact in the local community; and
|
| 4 |
| WHEREAS, Ace Hardware Store, located in Eastwood Center in |
| 5 |
| Mahomet, is one such business; and
|
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, Millie and Ernie Rosenberg opened Mahomet Ace |
| 7 |
| Hardware in 1976 after moving from Chicago, where they had |
| 8 |
| operated a hardware store since 1948; the store was among the |
| 9 |
| initial tenants of Eastwood Center; and
|
| 10 |
| WHEREAS, The Rosenbergs have announced their retirement |
| 11 |
| effective August 1, 2004, after 56 years in the hardware |
| 12 |
| business; and
|
| 13 |
| WHEREAS, The Mahomet Ace Hardware Store will remain in |
| 14 |
| operation under the ownership of Jim and Amy Hood; the Hood |
| 15 |
| family has operated Gibson City Ace Hardware since 1956; plans |
| 16 |
| are underway for the remodeling of the store to incorporate |
| 17 |
| computer and merchandising technologies offered by Ace |
| 18 |
| Hardware; the new owners plan to maintain the existing full |
| 19 |
| line Benjamin Moore paint franchise, while adding color |
| 20 |
| matching technology and volume custom paint color mixing; |
| 21 |
| therefore, be it

| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 23 |
| NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |
| 24 |
| congratulate Millie and Ernie Rosenberg on the occasion of |
| 25 |
| their retirement and thank them for their many years of service |
| 26 |
| to the community of Mahomet by operating the Ace Hardware |
| 27 |
| Store, and we extend our best wishes for the continued success |
| 28 |
| of the store to Jim and Amy Hood; and be it further
