| HOUSE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, Todd Hamilton recently won the 133rd British Open |
| 3 |
| Championship and claimed the claret jug in a four-hole |
| 4 |
| aggregate playoff by defeating Ernie Els; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Todd Hamilton grew up in Oquawka, where he learned |
| 6 |
| to golf on a nine-hole course, Hend-Co Hills, and in 1981 and |
| 7 |
| 1982 won the Illinois Class A High School Golf Championship for |
| 8 |
| Union High School; and
|
| 9 |
| WHEREAS, Todd Hamilton went on to play college golf at the |
| 10 |
| University of Oklahoma, where he was a first-team All-American |
| 11 |
| in 1987; and
|
| 12 |
| WHEREAS, Todd Hamilton married his Union High School |
| 13 |
| sweetheart, Jaque, and they have three children, Tyler (6), |
| 14 |
| Kaylee (4), and Drake (1); and
|
| 15 |
| WHEREAS, After eight trips through the PGA Tour's |
| 16 |
| Qualifying Tournament, five years on the Asian Tour, and 12 |
| 17 |
| years on the Japan Tour, Todd Hamilton finally made it to the |
| 18 |
| PGA tour; and
|
| 19 |
| WHEREAS, Todd Hamilton became a "rookie" on the PGA Tour |
| 20 |
| this year at the age of 38, then won the Honda Classic in |
| 21 |
| March; therefore, be it
|

| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 23 |
| NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |
| 24 |
| recognize Todd Hamilton and his great accomplishment of winning |
| 25 |
| the British Open, and we wish him well on the PGA Tour and |
| 26 |
| future accomplishments; and be it further
|
| 27 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 28 |
| presented to Todd Hamilton as a token of our admiration.
