| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|
| 2 |
| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 |
| Representatives wish to recognize and honor Jade Anderson of |
| 4 |
| Round Lake for her courageous actions in helping to save her |
| 5 |
| mother's life; and
|
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, On May 14, 2003, 6-year old Jade Anderson |
| 7 |
| displayed determination and bravery beyond her years; and
|
| 8 |
| WHEREAS, After awaking at 1:30 a.m. to the cries of her |
| 9 |
| mother, Serenity McKinney, who was in diabetic shock, Jade |
| 10 |
| determinedly rushed door to door for help, but no one responded |
| 11 |
| to her knocking; and
|
| 12 |
| WHEREAS, Sergeant Jerry Schneider of the Round Lake Police |
| 13 |
| Department discovered Jade searching for help and was led by |
| 14 |
| the young girl to her home and her ill mother; and
|
| 15 |
| WHEREAS, Serenity McKinney's life was saved thanks to the |
| 16 |
| heroic efforts of her 6-year old daughter, Jade; and
|
| 17 |
| WHEREAS, For her efforts Jade Anderson has received the |
| 18 |
| Life Saving Medal and the Grand Knight Medal of the Venerable |
| 19 |
| Order of Michael Archangel from the American Police Hall of |
| 20 |
| Fame, the latter of which she received at an awards ceremony at |
| 21 |
| the Kennedy Space Center in Florida; therefore, be it
|
| 22 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 23 |
| NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |
| 24 |
| honor Jade Anderson for her courage and determination in |
| 25 |
| seeking help for her mother, which ultimately led to saving her |
| 26 |
| mother's life; and be it further
|
| 27 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 28 |
| presented to Jade Anderson as a token our admiration.
