 1                          HOUSE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Brian P. Duffy
 3    Jr., a native son of Illinois and  a  resident  of  Evergreen
 4    Park, enlisted in the United States Army; and

 5        WHEREAS,  On  March  13, 2003, Brian will take an oath to
 6    protect and defend the United States of  America  during  the
 7    War on Terrorism; and

 8        WHEREAS,   Brian  will  proceed  to  Fort  Leonard  Wood,
 9    Missouri for basic training and chemical warfare school; and

10        WHEREAS, Upon completion of his training, he will  attend
11    "Jump School" for airborne training at Fort Benning, Georgia;
12    and

13        WHEREAS,   Brian   will  join  the  elite  82nd  Airborne
14    Division,  which  has  a  distinguished  combat   record   in
15    Normandy,  Panama,  and  Desert Storm, and is now deployed to
16    the Middle East; therefore, be it

17        RESOLVED,  BY  THE  HOUSE  OF  REPRESENTATIVES   OF   THE
18    NINETY-THIRD  GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
19    we recognize the loyal and  patriotic  service  of  Brian  P.
20    Duffy  Jr. to his country and commend him for his courage and
21    willingness to defend the United States of America; and be it
22    further

23        RESOLVED, That a suitable  copy  of  this  resolution  be
24    presented to Brian P. Duffy Jr. as a token of our respect and
25    esteem and with our best wishes for his success and safety as
26    he serves our country.
