HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the State of Illinois learned with great sadness of the death of Stanley Amos of Chicago on Thursday, June 3, 2004; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Amos was born on October 8, 1947, in Chicago to David and Gertrude Amos; he graduated from John M. Harlan High School in 1965; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Amos retired from the United States Postal Service where he worked as a letter carrier; he was a long-time member of Olivet Baptist Church in Chicago; and

WHEREAS, The passing of Stanley Amos has been deeply felt by many, especially his aunts, Ruth Teema and Lenora Amos; his cousins, Carl Ward, Sharon Ward, Darlene Reed, and Ollie Morrissette; and his devoted friends, Walter Brown and Bessie Higginbottom; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Stanley Amos, and we extend our sincerest condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Stanley Amos as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
