HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the State of Illinois are pleased to honor Marianne Turk for her many years of dedication to the community; and

WHEREAS, Marianne Turk was born on December 27, 1962; she has been married to Patrick Turk for 10 years; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Turk has served as president of the West Walker Civic Association for 3 years and served as vice president for 10 years; she serves as the 33rd Ward Advisory Council Chairperson; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Turk has been a teacher for 13 years at McPhearson Elementary School and has been an active member of the 17th District CAPS program; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Turk serves on the board of directors for the Irving Park Community Food Pantry and is a member of the New Library Committee and attends other civic organizational meetings; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Turk is associated with Calvary United Methodist Church, where she is the music director and organist and is also very active in the Sunday School program; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Turk has served the community for over 20 years and has proven to be a great asset in improving the community; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we honor Marianne Turk for her many years of dedication to the community; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Marianne Turk as an expression of our respect and esteem.
