| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 |
| Representatives wish to congratulate Chief Patrick J. Kenny of |
| 4 |
| the Hinsdale Fire Department on receiving the 2004 Illinois |
| 5 |
| Fire Chiefs Association's Fire Chief of the Year Award; and
|
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, Chief Kenny has been a member of the Fire Service |
| 7 |
| for over 21 years; he has been with the Hinsdale Fire |
| 8 |
| Department for over 20 of those years and has served as the |
| 9 |
| Fire Chief since 1993; and
|
| 10 |
| WHEREAS, Chief Kenny holds a bachelor's degree from Loyola |
| 11 |
| University in Psychology and an associate's degree from the |
| 12 |
| College of DuPage in Fire Science; he is a graduate of the |
| 13 |
| Executive Fire Officer program at the National Fire Academy and |
| 14 |
| is a recipient of Chief Officer Designation by the |
| 15 |
| International Fire Chiefs' Association; and
|
| 16 |
| WHEREAS, Chief Kenny is an Instructor for the Illinois Fire |
| 17 |
| Chiefs as well as Northwestern University and has articles |
| 18 |
| published in the areas of leadership and fire code challenges; |
| 19 |
| he has twice been awarded the Fire Prevention Achievement Award |
| 20 |
| by the Illinois Fire Inspector's Association; and
|
| 21 |
| WHEREAS, Chief Kenny is a member of the Standards Review |
| 22 |
| Committee for the Office of the State Fire Marshal for |
| 23 |
| Certified Fire Instructors, a member of the Illinois Fire |
| 24 |
| Chief's Promotional Assessment Board, the Metropolitan Fire |
| 25 |
| Chief's Executive Board, the Illinois Fire Chief's Educational |
| 26 |
| Foundation, and is currently the First Vice President of the |
| 27 |
| Illinois Fire Chief's Association; and
|
| 28 |
| WHEREAS, On May 14, 2004, at the Illinois Fire Chiefs |
| 29 |
| Association Annual Symposium, Chief Kenny was presented with a |
| 30 |
| beautiful acrylic tabletop award by President Jay Reardon, a |
