 1        AN ACT in relation to franchises.

 2        Be it enacted by the People of  the  State  of  Illinois,
 3    represented in the General Assembly:

 4        Section  5.   The  Franchise  Disclosure  Act  of 1987 is
 5    amended by changing Section 4 as follows:

 6        (815 ILCS 705/4) (from Ch. 121 1/2, par. 1704)
 7        Sec. 4.  Jurisdiction  and  venue.  Any  provision  in  a
 8    franchise  agreement that designates jurisdiction or venue in
 9    a forum outside of Illinois this State is void, provided that
10    a franchise agreement may provide for arbitration in a  forum
11    outside of Illinois this State.
