SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
820 ILCS 405/402   from Ch. 48, par. 402

    Amends the Unemployment Insurance Act. In language providing that the receipt of certain wages reduces weekly benefits payable to an individual, provides that benefits payable for any week shall not be reduced by any amount of remuneration paid to the individual with respect to that week for services as a member of the Illinois National Guard or the Armed Forces Reserve. Effective immediately.

1     AN ACT concerning employment.
 
2     Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
 
4     Section 5. The Unemployment Insurance Act is amended by
5 changing Section 402 as follows:
 
6     (820 ILCS 405/402)  (from Ch. 48, par. 402)
7     Sec. 402. Reduced weekly benefits. Each eligible
8 individual who is unemployed in any week, as defined in Section
9 239, shall be paid, with respect to such week, a benefit in an
10 amount equal to his weekly benefit amount (plus dependents'
11 allowances) less that part of wages (if any) payable to him
12 with respect to such week which is in excess of 50% of his
13 weekly benefit amount, provided that such benefit for any
14 benefit week shall be reduced by: (1) the amount of any holiday
15 pay which the individual is entitled to receive, and receives,
16 for any workday in such week, and (2) the amount of any
17 vacation wages allocated to such week by the individual's
18 employer pursuant to Section 610 of this Act, and (3) one-fifth
19 of the weekly benefit amount for each normal workday during
20 which such individual is unable to work or unavailable for
21 work, and provided, further, that this subsection shall not be
22 construed so as to effect any change in the status of part-time
23 workers as defined in Section 407. Such benefit, if not a
24 multiple of $1, shall be computed to the next higher multiple
25 of $1. Benefits payable to an individual for any week shall not
26 be reduced pursuant to this Section by any amount of
27 remuneration paid to the individual with respect to that week
28 for services as a member of the Illinois National Guard or the
29 Armed Forces Reserve.

31     Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
32 becoming law.
