SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

20 ILCS 301/50-5

Amends the Alcoholism and Other Drug Abuse and Dependency Act. Makes technical changes in a Section concerning funding for addiction treatment programs.

A BILL FOR

AN ACT concerning funding for addiction programs.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Alcoholism and Other Drug Abuse and Dependency Act is amended by changing Section 50-5 as follows:

(20 ILCS 301/50-5)

Sec. 50-5. Prevention and Treatment of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Block Grant Fund. Moneys Monies received from the federal government under the Block Grant for the Prevention and Treatment of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse shall be deposited into the Prevention and Treatment of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Block Grant Fund, which is hereby created as a special fund in the State treasury. Moneys Monies in this fund shall be appropriated to the Department and expended for the purposes and activities specified by federal law or regulation.
