SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

10 ILCS 5/1-2

from Ch. 46, par. 1-2

Amends the Election Code. Makes technical changes in a Section concerning the continuation of prior laws.

A BILL FOR

AN ACT in relation to elections.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Election Code is amended by changing Section 1-2 as follows:

(10 ILCS 5/1-2) (from Ch. 46, par. 1-2)

Sec. 1-2. Continuation of prior laws. The provisions of this Act, so far as they are the same as those of any prior statute, shall be construed as a continuation of those such prior provisions, and not as a new enactment.

If in any other statute reference is made to an Act of the General Assembly, or a Section of such an Act, that which is continued in this Election Code, the such reference shall be held to refer to the Act or Section thereof so continued in this Code.
