 1        AN ACT in relation to property.

 2        Be it enacted by the People of  the  State  of  Illinois,
 3    represented in the General Assembly:

 4        Section  5.  The  Code  of  Civil Procedure is amended by
 5    adding Section 7-103.2 as follows:

 6        (735 ILCS 5/7-103.2 new)
 7        Sec.  7-103.2.  Quick-take;   City   of   Mount   Vernon.
 8    Quick-take  proceedings under Section 7-103 may be used for a
 9    period of 3 years after the effective date of this amendatory
10    Act of the 93rd General Assembly by the City of Mount  Vernon
11    for the acquisition of all property necessary for the purpose
12    of  extending  or otherwise improving Veterans Memorial Drive
13    to the west to intersect with the extension of Davidson Drive
14    to the south in that city.

15        Section 99.  Effective date.  This Act takes effect  upon
16    becoming law.
