Amends the Secretary of State Act. Makes technical changes in a Section regarding the oath of office.

A BILL FOR

AN ACT in relation to the Secretary of State.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Secretary of State Act is amended by changing Section 2 as follows:

(15 ILCS 305/2) (from Ch. 124, par. 2)

Sec. 2. Oath. The Secretary of State shall, before entering upon the duties of his or her office, take and subscribe the oath or affirmation prescribed by Article XIII, Section 3 of the Constitution, which shall be filed in his or her office.
