Amends the Election Code. Permits election authorities to develop and implement programs of Internet voter registration in accordance with rules of the State Board of Elections.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Election Code is amended by adding Sections 4-50, 5-50, and 6-80 as follows:

(10 ILCS 5/4-50 new)

Sec. 4-50. Internet voter registration. Notwithstanding any other provision of this Code, an election authority may develop and implement a program of voter registration via the Internet. The program shall be in accordance with rules the State Board of Elections must adopt for the implementation of this Section.

(10 ILCS 5/5-50 new)
