    Amends the Environmental Protection Act. Makes a technical change in a Section concerning sulfur dioxide emission standards.

1     AN ACT in relation to environmental protection.
 
2     Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
 
4     Section 5. The Environmental Protection Act is amended by
5 changing Section 9.2 as follows:
 
6     (415 ILCS 5/9.2)  (from Ch. 111 1/2, par. 1009.2)
7     Sec. 9.2. Sulfur dioxide emission standards.
8     (a) (Blank.)
9     (b) In granting any alternative emission standard or
10 variance relating to sulfur dioxide emissions from a
11 coal-burning stationary source, the Board may require the use
12 of Illinois coal as a condition of the such alternative
13 standard or variance, provided that the Board determines that
14 Illinois coal of the proper quality is available and
15 competitive in price; such determination shall include
16 consideration of the cost of pollution control equipment and
17 the economic impact on the Illinois coal mining industry.
