SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
105 ILCS 425/10   from Ch. 144, par. 145

    Amends the Private Business and Vocational Schools Act. Provides that the State Superintendent of Education shall provide by rule for a schedule of application and renewal fees to be paid by all applicants for certificates of approval (now, fees are specified). Effective immediately.

1     AN ACT concerning schools.
 
2     Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
 
4     Section 5. The Private Business and Vocational Schools Act
5 is amended by changing Section 10 as follows:
 
6     (105 ILCS 425/10)  (from Ch. 144, par. 145)
7     Sec. 10. Application fees - Renewal fees. The
8 Superintendent shall provide by rule for a schedule of
9 application and renewal fees to be paid by all applicants for
10 certificates of approval. The following nonrefundable fees
11 shall be paid by each applicant and collected by the
12 Superintendent upon filing and receipt of each of the
13 applications specified below:
14Original school application for a
15    certificate of approval.......................$500
16Initial school application for a
17    certificate of approval upon occurrence
18    of a change of ownership......................$500
19Annual school application for renewal
20    of a certificate of approval..................$250
21School application for a change
22    of location...................................$ 75
23School application for a
24    classroom extension...........................$150
25School application for
26    supplementary courses
27    of instruction................................$150
28School application for
29    a short course................................$50
30     An applicant school which has not remedied all deficiencies
31 cited by the Superintendent within 12 months of the date of its
32 original application for a certificate of approval shall pay an

1 additional $500 fee established by the Superintendent by rule
2 original application fee for the continued cost of
3 investigation of its application.

5     Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
