SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

30 ILCS 500/25-65 new

Amends the Illinois Procurement Code. Requires that each State contract include the contractor's certification that services performed under the contract or a subcontract shall be performed within the United States by U.S. citizens, holders of valid U.S. immigrant visas, or both. Effective immediately.

A BILL FOR

AN ACT concerning State contracts.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Illinois Procurement Code is amended by adding Section 25-65 as follows:

(30 ILCS 500/25-65 new)

Sec. 25-65. Services performed within the United States. Each State contract awarded on or after the effective date of this amendatory Act of the 93rd General Assembly shall include a certification by the contractor that all services performed pursuant to the contract, including those performed pursuant to a subcontract, shall be performed within the United States by United States citizens, persons holding valid United States immigrant visas, or a combination of those persons.

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon becoming law.
