SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
5 ILCS 490/115 new

    Amends the Commemorative Dates Act. Provides that the second week of September of every year is designated as Everyday Heroes Week in Illinois. Provides that Everyday Heroes Week is in honor of all men and women of the military, fire, rescue, emergency, medical field, police, and public works departments, who risk their lives every day. Effective immediately.

1     AN ACT in relation to commemorative dates.
 
2     Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
 
4     Section 5. The State Commemorative Dates Act is amended by
5 adding Section 115 as follows:
 
6     (5 ILCS 490/115 new)
7     Sec. 115. Everyday Heroes Week. The second week of
8 September of each year is designated as Everyday Heroes Week to
9 be observed throughout the State as a week set apart to honor
10 all men and women of the military, fire, rescue, emergency,
11 medical field, police, and public works departments, who risk
12 their lives everyday.
 
13     Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
14 becoming law.
