 1        AN ACT concerning food service.

 2        Be  it  enacted  by  the People of the State of Illinois,
 3    represented in the General Assembly:

 4        Section 5. The Food Handling Regulation  Enforcement  Act
 5    is amended by adding Section 3.1 as follows:

 6        (410 ILCS 625/3.1 new)
 7        Sec. 3.1. Mandatory notice of food ingredients. Each food
 8    service establishment in this State shall:
 9             (1)  maintain  an  accurate ingredient list for each
10        item on the menu so as to alert any food allergy sufferer
11        to any potential reaction  that  may  be  suffered  as  a
12        result of consuming a particular menu item;
13             (2)  furnish  this  ingredient list upon the request
14        of the customer; and
15             (3)  post a sign, clearly visible to the  customers,
16        informing  them  of  their right to obtain the ingredient
17        list upon request.
