 1        AN ACT in relation to public aid.

 2        Be  it  enacted  by  the People of the State of Illinois,
 3    represented in the General Assembly:

 4        Section 5.  The Illinois Public Aid Code  is  amended  by
 5    adding Section 5-4.3 as follows:

 6        (305 ILCS 5/5-4.3 new)
 7        Sec.  5-4.3.  Emergency  air transport. For emergency air
 8    transport by helicopter provided to a recipient of aid  under
 9    this  Article,  the  Department of Public Aid shall reimburse
10    the provider of the emergency air  transport  services  at  a
11    rate  of  $4,950 for each emergency flight. This Section does
12    not  prohibit  a  provider  of  emergency  air  transport  by
13    helicopter from billing separately for oxygen furnished while
14    providing advanced life support services.

15        Section 99. Effective date. This Act  takes  effect  upon
16    becoming law.
