 1        AN ACT concerning tourism.

 2        Be it enacted by the People of  the  State  of  Illinois,
 3    represented in the General Assembly:

 4        Section  5.  The  Department  of  Commerce  and Community
 5    Affairs Law of the Civil Administrative Code of  Illinois  is
 6    amended by adding Section 605-725 as follows:

 7        (20 ILCS 605/605-725 new)
 8        Sec.  605-725. Tourism Authority. There is created in the
 9    Department a tourism authority to be known  as  the  Illinois
10    Tourism  Authority. The Authority shall consist of 14 members
11    appointed by the Governor representing the  tourism  industry
12    and  chosen  to  represent  different  regions  of the State.
13    Serving as  ex-officio  members  of  the  Authority  are  the
14    Director  of  the  Department,  the  Director of the Illinois
15    Bureau of Tourism, and the Lieutenant Governor.  The  members
16    shall serve without compensation.

17        Section  99.  Effective date.  This Act takes effect upon
18    becoming law.
