 1        AN ACT concerning schools.

 2        Be  it  enacted  by  the People of the State of Illinois,
 3    represented in the General Assembly:

 4        Section 5. The School Code is amended by  adding  Section
 5    18-8.10 as follows:

 6        (105 ILCS 5/18-8.10 new)
 7        Sec. 18-8.10.  Supplementary State aid for districts with
 8    significant growth. If there has been an increase of over 10%
 9    in  the  number  of  students in a school district over any 2
10    consecutive school years, then the amount  of  general  State
11    aid  for  the  next school year, as computed under subsection
12    (E) of Section 18-8.05 of this Code, shall  be  increased  by
13    that  portion of the percentage increase in the population of
14    the school district over the 2 preceding  school  years  that
15    exceeds 10%.

16        Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect on July
17    1, 2003.
