 1        AN ACT concerning first aid stations.

 2        Be it enacted by the People of  the  State  of  Illinois,
 3    represented in the General Assembly:

 4        Section  5.  The  Good Samaritan Act is amended by adding
 5    Section 31 as follows:

 6        (745 ILCS 49/31 new)
 7        Sec.  31.  First  aid  stations;  exemption   for   civil
 8    liability   for  first  aid  care  provided.   Any  volunteer
 9    certified in first aid according  to  the  standards  of  the
10    American  Red Cross or other nationally recognized certifying
11    agency, who, in good faith, provides generally accepted first
12    aid assistance, treatment, and referrals to  licensed  health
13    care  providers  at  a  first  aid station, is not liable for
14    civil damages as a result of his or her acts or omissions  in
15    providing  the  first  aid  treatment,  except for willful or
16    wanton misconduct.

17        Section 99.  Effective date.  This Act takes effect  upon
18    becoming law.
