 1        AN ACT in relation to health services.

 2        Be it enacted by the People of  the  State  of  Illinois,
 3    represented in the General Assembly:

 4        Section  5.  The  Abused  and  Neglected  Long  Term Care
 5    Facility Residents  Reporting  Act  is  amended  by  changing
 6    Section 2 as follows:

 7        (210 ILCS 30/2) (from Ch. 111 1/2, par. 4162)
 8        Sec.   2.  Department   of   Public   Health;  protective
 9    services.   The Illinois Department of  Public  Health  shall
10    upon  receiving  reports made under this Act, seek to protect
11    residents and prevent further harm to the  resident  who  was
12    the  subject  of  the  report  and  other  residents  in  the
13    facility.   In  performing  these  duties, the Department may
14    utilize such protective services of other State  departments,
15    commissions,  boards  or  other  agencies  and  any voluntary
16    agencies as are available.
