 1        AN ACT concerning veterans.

 2        Be  it  enacted  by  the People of the State of Illinois,
 3    represented in the General Assembly:

 4        Section 5.  The Veterans Advisory Council Act is  amended
 5    by changing Section 5 as follows:

 6        (330 ILCS 120/5)
 7        Sec. 5.  Veterans advisory councils.  A veterans advisory
 8    council  may  be established in each municipality in Illinois
 9    this State with a population of more than 50,000 inhabitants.
10    Each council shall consist of at least 3 but not more than 10
11    members  appointed  by  the  mayor   of   the   municipality.
12    Membership shall be voluntary, and members of a council shall
13    not receive any compensation for their services.
14        Each  veterans advisory council shall advise the mayor of
15    the municipality on issues pertaining to veterans.
