 1        AN ACT in relation to vehicles.

 2        Be  it  enacted  by  the People of the State of Illinois,
 3    represented in the General Assembly:

 4        Section 5.  The  Illinois  Vehicle  Code  is  amended  by
 5    changing Section 15-315 as follows:

 6        (625 ILCS 5/15-315) (from Ch. 95 1/2, par. 15-315)
 7        Sec. 15-315.  Exemptions to requirement of fees. (a)  The
 8    requirements as to fees authorized by Sections 15-302 through
 9    15-314  do  shall  not  apply  to the owner of the vehicle or
10    vehicle combination if  owned  by  the  United  States,  this
11    State,  or  any  political  subdivision of this State, or any
12    municipality therein.
13        (b)  The provisions of  Sections  15-302  through  15-314
14    requiring fees for a permit shall not modify, alter or in any
15    manner affect either the provisions of Section 15-301, or the
16    policy  of  the  Department adopted for the administration of
17    this Chapter.
