 1        AN ACT concerning planning.

 2        Be  it  enacted  by  the People of the State of Illinois,
 3    represented in the General Assembly:

 4        Section  5.  The Illinois Municipal Code  is  amended  by
 5    changing Section 11-12-5.1 as follows:

 6        (65 ILCS 5/11-12-5.1) (from Ch. 24, par. 11-12-5.1)
 7        Sec.  11-12-5.1.   School  land  donations. The governing
 8    board of a  school  district  may  submit  to  the  corporate
 9    authorities  of  a  municipality  having a population of less
10    than 500,000 that which is served by the  school  district  a
11    written request that a meeting be held to discuss school land
12    donations  from a developer of a subdivision or resubdivision
13    of land  included  within  the  area  served  by  the  school
14    district.  For  the  purposes  of  this Section, "school land
15    donation" means a donation of land for public school purposes
16    or a cash contribution in lieu thereof, or a  combination  of
17    both.
