 1        AN ACT regarding education.

 2        Be it enacted by the People of  the  State  of  Illinois,
 3    represented in the General Assembly:

 4        Section  5.   The  School  Code  is  amended  by changing
 5    Section 27-5 as follows:

 6        (105 ILCS 5/27-5) (from Ch. 122, par. 27-5)
 7        Sec.  27-5.   Physical  education  and  training.  School
 8    boards of public schools and the Board of Governors of  State
 9    Colleges  and  Universities  shall  provide  for the physical
10    education  and  training  of  pupils  of  the   schools   and
11    laboratory  schools under their respective control, and shall
12    include physical education and training  in  the  courses  of
13    study  regularly  taught therein.  The physical education and
14    training course offered in grades five 5 through ten  10  may
15    include  the health education course required in the Critical
16    Health Problems and Comprehensive Health Education Act.
