 1        AN ACT concerning the Department on Aging.

 2        Be it enacted by the People of  the  State  of  Illinois,
 3    represented in the General Assembly:

 4        Section  5.  The  Illinois Act on the Aging is amended by
 5    adding Section 8.10 as follows:

 6        (20 ILCS 105/8.10 new)
 7        Sec. 8.10. Aging family caregiver assistance program. The
 8    Department must establish and administer a program to provide
 9    financial assistance to Illinois residents aged 60  or  older
10    who  are the primary caregivers to one or more family members
11    who are developmentally disabled. The Department  must  adopt
12    rules  necessary  for  the  implementation  of  this Section,
13    including  the  establishment   of   additional   eligibility
14    criteria.
