SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Gerald M. Borries of Teutopolis, who passed away on December 25, 2024; and

WHEREAS, Gerald Borries, the son of Joseph E. "Specs" and Harriet C. "Sis" (Pruemer) Borries, was born in Teutopolis on July 7, 1949; he married Mary L. Roberts on July 6, 1985; and

WHEREAS, Gerald Borries worked on his family's farm, in the seed corn business, and on tractors; and

WHEREAS, Gerald Borries was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Teutopolis and the St. Francis Men's Sodality; and

WHEREAS, Gerald Borries enjoyed collecting tractors, and he was a strong supporter of the right-to-life movement and President Donald J. Trump; and

WHEREAS, Gerald Borries was preceded in death by his parents; and

WHEREAS, Gerald Borries is survived by his wife of 39 years, Mary; his daughter, Lisa (Josh) Hutson; two grandchildren; his brothers, Thomas and Leonard; his uncle, Gerald Pruemer; and his special cousin, Tanner Pruemer; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Gerald M. Borries and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Gerald Borries as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
