SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Esther Irene Bruns Kinner, who passed
4away on January 25, 2025; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Esther Kinner was born to Lawrence Fredrick and
6Mayme (Klokkenga) Bruns on March 19, 1948; at age 16, she began
7a 50-plus year career in the competitive events office during
8the Illinois State Fair; she graduated from San Jose High
9School; she received a bachelor's degree in education from
10Illinois State University and a master's degree from Saint
11Xavier University; she married William David "Bill" Kinner on
12November 17, 2024; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Esther Kinner began teaching music at the
14elementary schools in Pleasant Plains School District #8 in
151970, retiring in 2005; she continued to provide piano lessons
16after retirement; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Esther Kinner was a member and elder of
18Farmingdale Presbyterian Church and the Women's Ruth Circle;
19she was an active member of the Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority and
20Kappa Delta Omega; and
 
21    WHEREAS, Esther Kinner was an avid attendee of the

1Springfield Symphony; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Esther Kinner was preceded in death by her
3parents; her sister, Carol; and her niece, Trudi; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Esther Kinner is survived by her husband, Bill;
5her sister, Faye (Bill Lawson) Bruns; her "adopted" sister,
6Patty Taylor; her stepdaughters, Kristine (fiance, Sheldon
7Fairfield) Clemens and Dawn (John) Weatherford; four
8step-grandchildren; two step-great-grandsons; her
9sister-in-law, Carol (Bob) Pappas; her brothers-in-law, Rick
10(Mary) Kinner and Tim (Cynde) Kinner; and several nieces,
11nephews, and cousins; therefore, be it
 
12    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL
13ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
14Esther Irene Bruns Kinner and extend our sincere condolences
15to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be
16it further
 
17    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
18presented to the family of Esther Kinner as an expression of
19our deepest sympathy.
