SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Rev. Robert Setmeyer, who passed away on January 15, 2023; and

WHEREAS, Rev. Setmeyer served parishioners as the rector of St. Martin's Episcopal Church in Des Plaines for 29 years; and

WHEREAS, Rev. Setmeyer traveled extensively, including touring India for three months by train and speaking to as many people from different faiths as he could; he was fortunate enough to meet the Dalai Lama and have an audience with him; and

WHEREAS, Rev. Setmeyer was the husband of the late Joyce, father of five, grandfather of 13, and great-grandfather of two; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Rev. Robert Setmeyer and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Rev. Setmeyer as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
