| 1 | | SENATE RESOLUTION | 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | 3 | | to learn of the death of Lavern Arthur "Vern" Moore of | 4 | | Cambridge, who passed away on October 4, 2024; and | 5 | | WHEREAS, Vern Moore, the son of Leo L. and Blanche M. | 6 | | Buckley Moore, was born in Cambridge Township on June 28, | 7 | | 1937; he was educated in Cambridge schools and graduated from | 8 | | Cambridge High School in 1955; he later attended Black Hawk | 9 | | College; he served in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve from 1955 | 10 | | to 1957 and with the U.S. Army Pacific at its headquarters in | 11 | | Hawaii from 1957 to 1959; he married Janis Marie Humphrey in | 12 | | Orion on June 1, 1958; and | 13 | | WHEREAS, Vern Moore worked as a laboratory manager for | 14 | | Regal/National By-Products in Illinois and Iowa, retiring | 15 | | after 38 years of service; and | 16 | | WHEREAS, Vern Moore was a member of the Cambridge Lutheran | 17 | | Church; he was a past master and life member of Cambridge Lodge | 18 | | No. 49, A.F. and A.M.; and | 19 | | WHEREAS, Vern Moore enjoyed antiquing, gardening, and | 20 | | hunting; and |

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Vern Moore was preceded in death by his parents; | 2 | | his wife; and his infant granddaughter, Megan Anne Allison; | 3 | | and | 4 | | WHEREAS, Vern Moore is survived by his daughters, Lisa | 5 | | (Ken) Allison and Susan (Kenny) Beam; three grandchildren; | 6 | | eight great-grandchildren; and his brother, Howard Moore; | 7 | | therefore, be it | 8 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL | 9 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 10 | | Lavern Arthur "Vern" Moore and extend our sincere condolences | 11 | | to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be | 12 | | it further | 13 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 14 | | presented to the family of Vern Moore as an expression of our | 15 | | deepest sympathy. |
