| 1 | | SENATE RESOLUTION | 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | 3 | | to learn of the death of Lance Bolonik of River Forest, who | 4 | | passed away on June 28, 2024 at the age of 82; and | 5 | | WHEREAS, Lance Bolonik was born to Dr. Samuel and Sadie | 6 | | Bolonik in Chicago; and | 7 | | WHEREAS, Lance Bolonik graduated from Oak Park and River | 8 | | Forest High School in 1959, and he then graduated from Purdue | 9 | | University with a degree in mechanical engineering, later | 10 | | studying at Dominican University to receive a business degree; | 11 | | and | 12 | | WHEREAS, Lance Bolonik served in the U.S. Navy from 1964 | 13 | | to 1969, where he piloted E1B Tracers, known as Willy Fudds; | 14 | | and | 15 | | WHEREAS, Lance Bolonik had a successful 30-year career as | 16 | | a sales representative with MONY; he later found joy working | 17 | | as a substitute teacher at his alma mater, Roosevelt Middle | 18 | | School in River Forest; and | 19 | | WHEREAS, Lance Bolonik was a second-generation member of | 20 | | the West Suburban Temple Har Zion in River Forest, where he and |

| 1 | | his family forged lifelong friendships; and | 2 | | WHEREAS, Lance Bolonik enjoyed being in the company of his | 3 | | friends; he found other people and their life experiences | 4 | | fascinating and always had a pun or dad joke at the ready; and | 5 | | WHEREAS, Lance Bolonik was preceded in death by his | 6 | | parents; and | 7 | | WHEREAS, Lance Bolonik is survived by his wife; his | 8 | | daughters, Kera (Meredith Clair) Bolonik and Shana (Michael | 9 | | Cohen) Bolonik Cohen; his grandsons, Theodore Bolonik, Jack | 10 | | Cohen, and Phineas Cohen; his sister, Cheryl Hoffman; and his | 11 | | nephew, Shane (Hanna Siegel) Hoffman; therefore, be it | 12 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL | 13 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 14 | | Lance Bolonik and extend our sincere condolences to his | 15 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 16 | | further | 17 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 18 | | presented to the family of Lance Bolonik as an expression of | 19 | | our deepest sympathy. |
