| 1 | | SENATE RESOLUTION | 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | 3 | | to learn of the death of Stephanie G. Wood of Bolingbrook, who | 4 | | passed away on September 15, 2024; and | 5 | | WHEREAS, Stephanie Wood, the daughter of Fernando and | 6 | | Diane (Munoz) Esparza, was born in Oak Park on August 19, 1984; | 7 | | she received her undergraduate degree from DePaul University | 8 | | and her law degree from the John Marshall Law School, now known | 9 | | as the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law; and | 10 | | WHEREAS, Stephanie Wood worked in graduate admissions at | 11 | | her alma mater, DePaul University, for the past six years; and | 12 | | WHEREAS, Stephanie Wood was active in the martial art of | 13 | | Taekwondo for the majority of her life and had obtained her | 14 | | black belt; and | 15 | | WHEREAS, Stephanie Wood enjoyed playing board games, | 16 | | poker, and video games and exploring her creativity, including | 17 | | painting and building unique projects for her home; she adored | 18 | | all dogs but especially loved her two late dogs, Bree and | 19 | | Oscar; she loved being with her family and friends, including | 20 | | entertaining them at countless themed parties and arranging | 21 | | group vacations; and |

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Stephanie Wood will be remembered for her | 2 | | sparkling heart, energy, generosity, and selflessness; and | 3 | | WHEREAS, Stephanie Wood was preceded in death by her | 4 | | grandparents, Fernando and Micaela Esparza and Eliseo and | 5 | | Rebecca Munoz; and | 6 | | WHEREAS, Stephanie Wood is survived by her husband of nine | 7 | | years, Danny; her brother, Tristan (Kristy) Esparza; her | 8 | | parents; her in-laws, Randy and Barb Wood; her sister-in-law, | 9 | | Allison (Artie) Taylor; her nieces and nephews; her uncle, | 10 | | Ruben; her aunts, Beatrice and Maria; and many other relatives | 11 | | and friends; therefore, be it | 12 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL | 13 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 14 | | Stephanie G. Wood and extend our sincere condolences to her | 15 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | 16 | | further | 17 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 18 | | presented to the family of Stephanie Wood as an expression of | 19 | | our deepest sympathy. |
