SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

25 ILCS 10/13 new

Amends the General Assembly Operations Act. Provides that any member of the General Assembly who wishes to introduce a bill pertaining to a firearm must be able to prove that he or she has completed firearm training requirements under the Firearm Concealed Carry Act, range safety officer training, and a basic knowledge test of calibers and gauges of firearms.

A BILL FOR

AN ACT concerning State government.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The General Assembly Operations Act is amended by adding Section 13 as follows:

(25 ILCS 10/13 new)

Sec. 13. Firearm legislation; requirements. Any member of the General Assembly who wishes to introduce a bill pertaining to a firearm must be able to produce proof, upon request, that he or she has completed: (1) the firearm training requirements under Section 75 of the Firearm Concealed Carry Act; (2) range safety officer training; and (3) a basic knowledge test of calibers and gauges of firearms.
